- The majority of the sequence is in black, this helps in giving connotations of darkness, mystery and a slightly twisted nature. This is a convention of genre as Thrillers usually follow these sorts of themes.
- The text that is used for the titles is quite metallic looking and rigid, which suggests coldness and an edge. This suits the genre as Thrillers aren't usually of a warm, inviting nature and have a lot of the characters are normally quite edgy.
- Also, the sequence includes images of people and insects being tied up in some kind of wire, this suggests that there is danger involved later on in the film and it also foreshadows death. This suits the genre as it danger and death are heavily involved in any Thriller film.
- I particularly like this opening as it manages to stay visually exciting and interesting, while still keeping in tune with its genre conventions. I would like to do something like this while making my own title sequence.
