The Art of the Title Inner Workings- A Summary


   We have been given the task of reading an article discussing the Inner Workings of Title Sequences featured in both television series and films, this article can be found on www.artofthetitle.com 


Summary

  • It's first paragraph discusses the fact that similar themes and title layouts are repeated through-out all the different film genres. It also mentions that popular imagery that's featured in title sequences include key information about given about themes or characters through close-ups and overlapping imagery.
  • The next paragraph goes on to discuss popular topics featured in title sequences. Most title sequences use complex graphic animation or a more situational theme in which the text is incorporated fluidly into live-action footage. Microscopic images of mechanics (clogs and machinery) and organic substances (cells and organisms) are also popular. This topic is used in the sequences to Hellboy and Splice.
  • Then the article goes on to show the title sequences of films that use the techniques discussed in the previous paragraphs.
